An Easter thank you.
What does it take to do SIX services at TWO campuses to celebrate ONE Saviour? One word: People. A lot of good people.
I am so grateful for the amazing people that are Village Church. They want people to meet Jesus in our city so badly that they are willing to do anything.
To all the volunteers who served one, two, some of you even three of four services yesterday in every area of ministry from Parking ministry to Village Kids – thank you! Thousands of people were greeted, ushered and loved on by you including 600 kids who learned about Jesus because of you!
To the heads of ministries like Ushers, Greeters, Parking, Connect Desk crew – you served with passion and love yesterday and made everyone feel welcome. Thank you!
To all of the Village Church staff – especially the Production, and Worship teams – who worked pretty well around the clock the last week to put together an amazing celebration of the resurrection of Jesus! Thank you.
Pastor Eric, you were like a mad scientist in your element, leading each service with passion, which includes all the work it took behind the scenes to write and produce all of that music for all the musicians, etc., You and your teams did an amazing job!
To Buffy (our Children’s Director) and all her amazing Village Kids team that taught about Jesus all weekend, and all our other Pastors, Directors, Communication staff, etc., who are the behind the scenes people who make it all possible, thank you!
It was a record day at our church – and as the day wound down, and I reflected on all the people who heard about the hope of Jesus, all the conversations that took place, the laughs, the music, the praying – the marvel, I was overwhelmed with gratitude and just sat outside for a few minutes in silence, stared up at the stars and thanked God for building the most amazing team (both staff and volunteers) around this mission we have. He is so good!
And then… I fell into my bed and passed out.
